At the time they implemented it, there was a notice on the front page that it was coming and it stayed there a while. It was worded poorly and still didn't really stand out among all the other text, so it still left a lot to be desired.

Now, it's buried on the FAQ page:

That says to me they still don't get that this just isn't available at least in the US. If you contacted your card company asking, you'd either be told it isn't available or more likely get the same response @Gabriel did i.e. "we've never heard of this."

On Volks, Amex has always worked for me. That Capital One card was usually rejected at least once, as it was for nearly any foreign transaction so I finally canceled it as that was specifically what I got it for, and thinking it supported 3D Secure when it actually didn't.

Here is a random link that explains how, at best, 3D Secure benefits the merchant but offers nothing to the card user.

This is an article that is perhaps clickbait-y, but offers some potential security issues with how the whole process works.

I checked back on the Fate release and those dolls already had a shipping date by this stage. Hoping we hear about these guys soon. The wait is always at its worst in the final month or two.. 

I'm actually kind of hoping for a delay with these haha!

 

I'm going to Japan for a month in November and don't have nearly enough savings yet! Having to pay for both dolls before I go would kind of kill any chance for shopping haha!

Anyone else going bonkers waiting for the release date announcement? I find myself refreshing the main site and Twitter constantly. Given Ribbon and Coron got delayed it would be nice to hear anything about the Nier dolls at this stage. 

I’ve noticed more people asking about them on Twitter too but the questions just get ignored *sigh*

Right? I actually keep checking this site daily to see if anyone responds to this topic with a link to a twitter announcement or a confirmation that they got their payment email. . .

I've never actually seen Volks JP respond to anything on twitter, I've only seen VolksUS respond on facebook. Maybe they don't check notifications or maybe its just not their policy (I know theres an annoying person who comments GREAT WORK!-string of emoji- on -every single tweet they ever make- (edit: i think they may have finally blocked this person because their tweets no longer show), so I don't blame them for not checking every single notification they get.). I know they don't like to confirm or deny things in advance, and I've seen Azone do the same. (There's also of course the chance that whoever is in charge of social media doesn't have all the answers, or the authority to give them) I do think its better to get no answers than rude/insulting answers but it can still be really frustrating. From a company standpoint I guess they figured they've already given the time as between october/november and there's no need to narrow it down further until it gets closer. (Maybe after the 15th there will news?)

I kind of expected these two could take longer than usual simply due to assuming there will be a much higher number of preorders than usual, combined with the fact that they're so detailed. It will be interesting to see if there ends up being more than two shipping batches.

So long as I don't expect anything before November 1st I can at least be pleasantly surprised that its 'earlier' than I think...? On the plus side this entire year has gone so terrifyingly fast for me that the wait passed in the blink of an eye...

On a more serious note, I have a few pre-orders from another hobby in addition to a 2B pre-order. I get to go bonkers waiting for 2B *and* other toys.

I'm definitely excited for when 2B finally makes it home to me! I've really been digging more realistic sculpts since getting my Angel Philia Emma so I'm eager to play with 2B's look. Thankfully I paid her off in her entirety to Volks USA when I pre-ordered her just to save myself the trouble of saving throughout the year (thank goodness for my tax return). Throughout the year I've had her in the back of my mind, but since I have plenty of other things to keep me occupied I haven't really been thinking too much on it till this month. I forgot that I decided to pick her up at the store instead of doing delivery which will be kind of a pain... but considering my USPS mail delivery person is always doing something wrong with my packages (it's a terribly long list and it's always a different person). So even though the drive will be a pain at least I don't have to worry about the mail person messing things up 😓

How many people are keeping her as 2B vs new character? I watched my hubby play the game so I really liked the character, but I can see myself definitely creating another character/look. I'm also hoping that 9S will be available again during different events that Volks USA has be it in person or online. I really wanted him as well, but I could only pick one since the price tag for each doll was hefty 😅 Since pre-order dolls tend to make multiple appearances during events I'm hoping that 9S will be one of those dolls that will get sold again down the line.

My two will stay as 'versions' of themselves. 2B and 9S will retain their names, however they will not always be in their default outfits. I will probably change out their wigs and eyes quite a bit because. . . why not. I also want to dress them casually so I think they are going to fit into the punk, goth, and lolitia styles.

I'll keep her as 2B. She'll mostly wear what's not her default outfit because we already know how awesome she looks in that. I'm going to make my 2B look awesome in something else. 😀

I’m a huge Nier fan so mine will remain as 2B. I expect she will mainly be in default but I’m hoping to buy some alternate wigs and outfits. My rule is black, white and greys only. No colors. I had some custom made fox ears and tail created earlier this year (took 2-3 months) that are already waiting for her. So she may be Fox!2B most of the time assuming they suit her. 

Glad we can all be in here suffering together while we wait. @Monty My sensible side knows they don’t engage on Twitter yet it still bugs me they don’t reply when it’s something I want to know too lol. I always see that person replying on their tweets with GREAT WORK EMOJI including the tweet yesterday. Are you sure you didn’t block them yourself? 😛

I'm not keeping mine as 2B as much as I like the game. Keeping dolls as other people's characters is not my thing :3 I think I'm making her into a boy and giving her body to someone else but this sort of depends as my dolls and their plans are all over the place currently, since half my DDs and my SmD decided to make their own story and separate from the rest of them TuT

I plan on keeping 9S as himself even if I make changes to his wig and eyes(and potentially tweak his faceup, we'll see)

Definitely won't always be in his default outfit though. I'll be keeping a close eye on stain reports...lol. But I also want to try to keep him in the black/white/gray range for clothes.

Been busy with other things for a while. Had to stop by and make sure I didn't miss any news about 2B. 😊 I can't wait to get her~

My 2B will remain 2B, the same way Miku remained Miku.

Also, I am one that is hoping for delays, this hobby is very expensive for me in Brazil and I had several unplaned expenses this year.

I remember that when I got Miku, there were so many pre orders that Volks sent several waves (3 or 4) and the last one just shipped on the next year, so I tried to take advantage of that this time and just made the pré-order on the very last hour, that way if there are multiple waves I am sure to be on the last.

I wish you all can receive your dolls as soon as possible but I can wait, you hear me Volks? Let me be the last on the line kkkk.

I semi-plan to keep her as 2B. She'll still be 2B, but I'll buy a few silver wigs in different tones and styles for different looks. From the promo pics, it looks like she has the same greasy/crunchy-looking wig fibers as Ranka and I HATE how those wigs look. I love the smoother fibers in Miku's wig, and most ebay/Taobao sellers use similar fibers. I'll mainly dress her in casual clothing because 2B will finally get to wear a t-shirt, and I'm scared of her default outfit. 

 

I'm also thinking of swapping her bust for a modded DD M or L bust, since IMO the Dy bust doesn't suit 2B's character model. I might also swap her eyes because they kind of look like dead fish eyes in some of the promo pics, but that could just be due to bright display lighting.

My 2B will mostly remain as 2B, but I'll be dressing her up in different clothes for sure! I'll likely keep the default eyes +wig, unless the quality of the wig ends up being awful.

I didn't preorder 9S, because oooof the price tag on one of the dolls was bad enough. But it feels kind of wrong for me to have one without the other,  so hopefully he'll be available at future events.

I agree with you, and I've considered swapping her bust as well. I wonder how she'll fit in her default outfit with a smaller bust? Hopefully it won't be too loose

It's not just that it's black, it's that it looks like suede/microsuede in the promo pics and that stuff attracts dust like crazy. I have a long-haired cat, and while he's not allowed near the dolls, his fur gets EVERYWHERE. My 2B would instantly be encased by 6" white and orange hairs. 

I'm keeping my Tubes and Nines as their characters. Of course, I'll dress them in alternate outfits and etc haha.

I had considered dropping the bust size to an L too so if anyone does that please share loads of pics on how it works out, specially with the fit of the outfit. I still applaud the team for going DDdy to ensure the butt is as correct as possible without a custom piece, but it’s true this made the bust a touch too large.

I feel M would be too small but excited to see how people customize (all the eye and wig swaps will be interesting too).

Aaaah the wait 

My 2B has already 4 outfits specially for her and a couple of gray wigs. I wanted to keep her as A2 without the blackness.

I hope this new tiphoon and earthquake doesn’t delay them more...
