That's actually odd that no news were shared at all 😮 wonder why...

They did just have a Typhoon hit Japan. They may have decided to hold the announcement for a few days.

They might also have had a production delay of some kind. I'd still expect you will see something in the next week or two. If they have some delay that pushes delivery out past Fall they need to say something fairly soon; mid-November at the latest imo.

I scored tickets to the Chicago Nier concert and I am over the moon excited. I've spent half my life in an orchestra hall and it feels very wrong etiquette-wise to bring a doll, but they're coming out just in time and I bet I won't be the only one. I wanted to ask if anyone else saw it, got tickets and will bring doll??

[3rd delivery]	Delivery start date: Sequential delivery from the beginning of May 2020 Target audience: Those who made a reservation from December 1 (Sat) to December 2 (Sun) 2018 　　 * In the case of pick-up at the store or pick-up at another store, we will contact you as soon as the product is ready for delivery . * It will take about 10 days to complete the shipment for all 3rd orders.

 

That breakdown of dates is interesting--they must have gotten a ton of orders on the last two days!

It sucks, but at the end of the day I'm glad Volks are okay, it's not like they had control over this. At least I'm in the first batch ;-; I don't mind waiting that extra month (i was expecting him early november) because the year already went so fast, but I'm still a little sad I couldn't have him for my birthday like I thought.

edit: With such a large gap between batch 1 and 2, I will be very interested to find out if there are any differences, however minor.

The huge gap between the first and second batches really does make it seem like something may have happened to a large number of already produced dolls (or components/parts) and that is really sad for me to think about ._. (the image of poor destroyed dolls is weirdly fitting for the property though)

You have seen the game's DLC "Deserving of life" music video, which sparked the whole speculation of a official 2B doll, have you? ... ahem... be prepared for carnage.

But could be a factor of things, but it seems like a percentage of inventory was lost or a catastrophic quality control issue and not enough time to make everything right.

In any case personally a little annoyed for the additional delay since I'm in the april batchm but also gives me some extra breathing room, despite having the funds on hand... or maybe even get something else for a Christmas present this year... that is unless they demand payment asap, which would suck.

 

Could the gap also be because Volks has to fit production of the December dolls in there somewhere? The first batch could be ones that got made before and survived the typhoon.

That's a good point. I'm guessing (or at least want to believe) that rather than complete dolls it was components of them (ie a bunch of wigs damaged) as I don't think everything is made all in the same place anyway. But I also have no idea how production of Volks dolls typically goes.

@finnleo that video was actually the first thing that came into my mind when I heard the news.

Finally news! Glad I placed my preorder on day one. At least I’ll see my doll this year. 
 

It’s strange cause typhoon 15 mainly hit Chiba and I never would have thought Volks produced dolls there. The more you know I guess. I think it’s likely that the damage may be disruption to utilities required for production (a lot don’t have electricity after the recent disasters) rather than stock damage. I’ll tell myself that to avoid the visual of thousands of destroyed 2B/9S’s anyway. 
 

My condolences to those waiting to April/May.

Does anyone know how this would affect anyone who ordered through VolksUSA? Would it be the same delivery schedule based on when you ordered, or would it be later? I usually don't order through USA, but it seems like they tend to get stuff later than International orders.

That is a good point. I ordered through Volks USA. . . So, that could be significantly more annoying if they are shipped by compartment ship to Volks USA the same time everyone else is recieving theirs in the mail. . .

So I'm in batch 2 and am actually ok with that assuming that they won't ask me for payment until early next year. Does anyone know how this sort of thing has worked in the past?

Oh no, I'm in batch three! I guess I'll be spending a lot of time staring longingly at everyone's doll photos in December. I've waited this long, I can keep waiting a bit longer...!

In the past they have had a payment schedule for each batch that begain two weeks ahead of shipping.

The delay with Volks USA is the time it takes for shipment to the US by container ship. Using airmail would add significant cost to the products.

Little disappointed, but ultimately not surprised. I understand that the circumstances make it impossible to meet the original proposed delivery date. I was a lil' late on the pre-order train and got put into the second batch. 

If I think of this positively,April 2020 actually is logistically better for me since I will probably have more space (due to moving) around the time they're delivered. 

Here's to hoping that there's no more delays.

[Speculation, I do not want to get anyone's hopes up] Perhaps another reason for the longer delay between the first and second shipments from Volks Japan is they may ship the container to the US during that time between the first and second Japanese shipments.

Oh I'm in the 3rd delivery...I made my order like 1 minute before the preorder ended 😂 it's cool, can't wait to see other people's dolls!

I placed my order in the first few minutes through Volks Int, so I'm guessing I'll see him in December. I don't mind waiting another month, maybe he'll be here for Yule and MAYBE if I have any self control I can wait to open him but probably not. Lying to yourself is bad. Damn though. I'm also wondering how this will effect Volks USA orders. BUT I'm glad they're safe and everything is mostly okay.

Well i made my order the last day of the pre order sooooo, a 6 more month more waiting for me, i wanna cry ; ; .

I put my order in on November 21 but I did it through Volks USA so I have no idea. I'll just assume the last batch since I know Volks USA is always slower to get the preorders. I'm not really phased either way. I've already saved what I need for 9S so sitting on it longer isn't a big deal. hopefully by then I will have gotten something more accomplished with boy clothes. Trying to find the specific style for Ollie is hard simply because that detail was always kinda fuzzy in my head. 😅

Looking at 9S boots again makes me wonder if Lucas is going to steal them. 🤣
