    Sit With Me?

I walked in on Miki watching my laptop. (ignore the your/you're ^^') Miki is a dollfie dream Marai!
  2. Sailor Moon, as a series, has meant quite a lot to me over the years, so when Volks announced their Sailor Moon Dollfie Dream in late 2017, I was pretty excited. I was lucky to have a successful lottery entry, but after the doll arrived... there was a lot of other stuff going on, and I didn't even open her. As time passed, I felt guilty when I saw the sealed box, and I started to think that I ought to sell her... and then Volks announced Mars and Mercury. I decided to try for them both, and I was lucky enough to be successful once again! Now that they're here, after the somewhat muddled Volks International invoicing and shipping delays, I took some time to do a box opening for all 3. Three large boxes! I had quite a time hauling Mars & Mercury home... they arrived at my office on the same day, and the boxes barely fit in the IKEA bag I brought! Toting them home on the train was definitely an experience... XD Who's in the first box? It's Sailor Moon! (It seemed only appropriate that she be opened first, since she arrived first. Here's the box! It's the drawer-style. Unfortunately, my box suffered some rough handling during its voyage, and one corner is pretty crumpled. (This was visible on the outside shipping carton as well.) Nothing inside the box was damaged. And the first look inside! She's packed like a Dollfie Dream, ribbon belts holding the plastic-bagged doll to an insert, not cushioned or bubble-wrapped like other dolls. I know that her face hasn't been the most popular, but I think she's very cute! Underneath the doll are her papers, accessories, wig, and outfit pieces! And this is everything she came with! Uniform, extra hands, boots, wig, papers, and a box with her plastic accessories! Another view of the uniform, boots, and the accessories tray removed from the white box. She came with a lot of gloves, several of them custom designed for the extra hands, so that she can do some poses fitting for the character. And here are the hands! I love the variety of extra hands, but I must say I'm terrible at the process of actually replacing them on the wrist structures. This is the accessories tray, with the top removed for a better look. The tiara is just set on top; it was in a plastic baggie and taped to the back. This tray would fit a much shallower tiara, but they went with a different design than they originally intended, it seems. And here's her wig! The odango are rather odd-looking from any angle other than straight-on. I'm hoping I can eventually get her another wig for more general use... I don't want to risk damaging this one! And here she is, removed from the plastic bag! She has the Dollfie Dream Sister standard body, not to the new f3 that Mars and Mercury have, as she was released before it was introduced. It's normal skin and medium bust, which does match Mars and Mercury. Another picture of her face, this time without the plastic bag in the way! I like her eyes a lot more than I expected to... Here she is, dressed in the uniform! (I got lazy and put the mitten glove on one hand...) She doesn't have one of the crescent moon charms on her boot, because the hook snapped off when I tried to affix it! Thankfully it was an easy repair with a dab of nail glue, which I keep on hand precisely for this kind of thing. It was drying when I took this picture. Usagi is watching while the other box openings continue. And now, on to Sailor Mars! Another picture of the box; this one didn't suffer any major bumps on its journey. On the inside it's basically identical to Sailor Moon's packaging. I like the makeup and face of Sailor Mars a lot more than I expected to, given the promotional photos. Her eyes seemed much more angular; I'm happy with how they look on her. All of her goodies are tucked below the insert that holds the doll! Here's everything from inside the box—uniform, high heels, wig, white box of accessories, and booklet! I really like the fabric and colour chosen for her uniform. It has such a lovely sheen! I had a hard time capturing it well for this picture. Her wig is very dark, so I couldn't get too much detail when it's flat like this. It has a nice violet sheen, just like Rei's hair is usually illustrated. Sailor Mars is on the Dollfie Dream Sister f3 body, normal skin and medium bust. I can't really tell much of a difference from this and the previous body on Sailor Moon, but maybe that's just because I'm not an expert. I'm really happy with her face! She's darling! Obviously she needed to be dressed into her uniform! (A warning, though... there are some stains on her forehead and above her ears from wearing her tiara for these box-opening pictures! This did not happen to Usagi or Ami... I think putting tape on the back of the tiara would be a good idea to avoid this fate for anyone else.) Now Sailors Mars and Moon are ready to welcome their next teammate, Sailor Mercury! (Although canonically, Moon and Mercury would welcome Mars... ;D) It's another box very similar to the others! No damage here! She's in her box exactly the same way that Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars were packed. Honestly, it's pretty efficient. Underneath the insert with the doll is a sea of blue! She's somewhat monochromatic compared to Sailors Moon and Mars. Sailor Mercury comes with her uniform, boots, wig, a box with accessories, and booklet. Her uniform is the same style and fabric as Sailor Mars, but in Mercury's signature blues. I wasn't sure about her wig, at first glance, but when it's worn by the doll it's a very nice representation of her character's hairstyle. I do wish it didn't have a black wig cap, however. Sailor Mercury has the exact same body as Sailor Mars—Dollfie Dream Sister f3, normal skin, medium bust. I think Ami is my favourite out of all three! I feel that she really looks like the character and she looks adorable to boot! She seems like she could be really versatile, even with the blue eyebrows. Here's the third sailor soldier of today's box opening in her uniform and wig! I think she looks wonderful. Here's a quick side-by-side of all three dolls. I can't really see much difference between Sailors Mars and Mercury vs Sailor Moon, even though they share one body type and she has the other. I know that the internal frame is slightly different, but it isn't outwardly visible. Here's all three! Now that this happened, I have to say that I'm happy that I didn't sell Sailor Moon... I hope I can find a place to keep them displayed together. It brings a smile to my face to see the trio. If Volks releases Jupiter and Venus I am definitely doomed! XD What's this? Oh right, their school uniforms! I entered for these in the same lottery as Mars and Mercury, and they arrived on the same day as the dolls! When they're not fighting crime as pretty soldiers, they're ready for the trials of teenage life as schoolgirls. ♥ Thanks so much for reading! ♥

    Trinket Milinda (lingerie warning)

Well, This time around its simple enough stuff... Milinda's head on Luka's body that happened to be available at the moment to take the trinket jewelry for a show. Outfit wise I again succumbed to the easy route with the very old Nynj55 bustier set, which had gone through its rotation cool down period. PSO2's Heroine Has Arrived!

Greetings! About a month ago, my Matoi arrived, little angel number 12! It's almost surreal to have one of my favorite characters from Phantasy Star Online 2 in official doll form. There are 3 characters I absolutely adore from PSO2: Quna, Jeane, and Matoi. Having one of them in official doll form is enough to send me over the moon. I never thought this would ever happen, but now it has, and I couldn't be happier to have one of my favorite heroines from one of my favorite video games of all time in official doll form! Here she is, after a solid hour of agonizing how to make a Shapely L uni-torso upgrade work and actually dressing her! A closer look at her lovely face. While you can't duplicate her in-game look perfectly, I think Volks did a wonderful job conveying her soft-spoken personality and gentle expression. 😍 And of course, a better look at her upgraded assets! It took some creative work to get her bra to fit and stay secured in place, since the straps couldn't stretch far enough around her back on their own. Remember this: outfit bust guidelines are just that: guidelines! 🤣

How Hard Is It To Remove Dirt

Hey guys. I'm getting my third doll in the next month or so. I'm shopping on Mandarake and one of the dolls i'm looking at has some dirt on her, the item description says there's dirt on her legs but other than like two or three small dots of dirt i can't really see anything else. So if the pictures are just to hard to tell from how hard would it be to remove dirt from a doll. It really doesn't look bad honestly just small minor stains
  6. I haven't done one of these before but I thought it looked like a potentially fun way to track what I'm hoping to do here! So I got into Fate faaairly recently, starting with FGO, and then Fate/Extella, and with Extella, I really, REALLY came to love Nero. She's a delight and incredibly charming. So I've never really done a character doll before, but this seemed like a fun place to start. I thought about just buying the release Volks did of her a few years ago, but the faceup really doesn't do it for me? Like, she's cute, but she seems really subdued in comparison to her personality. vs I think I might be being weirdly nitpicky here? But either way, I wanted to change the faceup and I felt bad doing that to an older, limited doll since I know plenty of people do like the default?? It's silly but I don't want to take that from someone in a situation where there's definitely a finite number already floating around! So I ended up doing a preorder split for the new Saber and I'll wipe THAT faceup and get it redone to something that IMO captures her personality better. Longterm goals are to get a few of her outfits, like her original red dress and the bride outfit/s. For now, she's getting that little red dress (ETA: the actual term for the dress is banned on the forum??). On that note--if anyone happens to know where I can track down her sword, legit or replica, let me know! I've heard they're on taobao but I haven't figured out what exactly to search yet. My ultimate wishlist would be to get DDs of Gudako(FGO FeMC), Mash, Astolfo and Gudao/Ritsuka(FGO MC) too, but that's uh. A long ways away I think. I'll update this as I move along, though I don't think I'll have anything very exciting to show until those dolls ship in a few months!

  8. So I've been collecting Dollfie Dream gals for about 3 years now, beginning with an original Hatsune Miku I purchased from the Volks booth at Anime Expo. Snow Miku followed soon after, and a couple years later I met a group of very cool people (now my friends) who "introduced" me to my daughter and first MDD, a standard Rena. (now my Avatar) Fast forward to the present and I have just over 20 girls and the joy of this hobby just keeps growing. However all my gals (and one boy) are recent from the time I started to now. So I began wondering after reading some Dollfie history, what the past held, what I may have missed, and if anyone from the past may be a fit for the "family" I've built. After doing some research online, here and amongst friends in the doll community, I arrived at the perfect gal to pull forward in time to join us on our journey. After a relatively short search, she came into view! Today I am proud to welcome my first elder doll, Dollfie Dream Dynamite: Escalayer! More pics to come! 😊

    Taking Dollfie abroad

Hello! I am moving to Japan in a couple of months time and am unsure as to what is the best way to take my doll with me. The Volks Dollfie Dream carry cases would be great but are always sold out (∩´﹏`∩) Her wig is long so I will take it seperately in the box and packaging it originally came in, and since she is custom I have a face cover to protect her face-up, but as for carrying her I am unsure how to go about it ( p′︵‵。)

    Chapter 1: Welcome Home

Down a long winding country road, behind a split rail fence covered in the dried tangled remains of last autumn’s trailing vines, peeking out from a small postage stamp orchard of fruit trees to one side and paper birch to the other, all surrounded by rolling pastures dotted with cattle, nestled a large Victorian home. Pale periwinkle siding, a lengthy wrap around porch, three story tall tower, carved wooden scroll work, and even a widow's walk to top it off, the home seemed perfectly content in its surroundings. Deep within this picturesque countryside hand-painted letters on the side of the oversized metal mailbox simply stated: Liley Pemblebrook Manor, Badger Pocket This chill early February day was filled with overcast and brooding grey winter clouds made no attempt to hide the equally dull toned landscape under a blanket of thick frost. Barren trees waited for spring in the front yard, as the rose bushes stuck out of the ground like deformed skeletal hands. Remains of a vegetable garden peeked out from behind the home as well as a large weeping willow dusted frosty white. The stillness and quiet only broken by the occasional call of farm animals somewhere in the distance. Stillness lay over the surrounding fields. If by chance someone had the inclination to wander about, they briskly made their way to their destination to escape the sharp bite lingering in the cold air. Even the few scant cars driving down the road seemed to be burdened by the cheerless weather, slowly dragging the passengers to wherever they needed to be. From the very look of things the day was shaping up to be unremarkable. Inside the home was far from calm and peaceful. At least for one of the residents. Little note was taken of the weather even if a pair of eyes looked out the front window more than a dozen times in the last hour. The morning had been a flurry of activity, nervousness and impatience. Anxiously a woman went over the last minute details once again as she stood in the comfortable living room muttering to herself. “Did I remember to make all the beds? Maybe I should check that all the bathrooms have hand towels? There is something I’m forgetting… I just know there is!” “Yes sweetheart, the beds and bathrooms are fine. If they weren’t you’ve already checked them fifteen times this morning anyway.” The man sat leisurely on the couch, book in hand, calm as could be. Looking at her unfazed husband just made her feel even more like a nervous wreck. More than one argument had been sparked that morning by the two personalities clashing. Husband taking for granted that everything that was important enough would get done, never quite seeing that the wife was the one making sure they got there. Stress made her usually patient nature morph into explosives with painfully short fuses. It had taken her over a decade to learn how to calm her firecracker personality down so those around her would not be hit with the emotional shrapnel. Still too frequently she had to regularly check herself before speaking to avoid making snap judgements that would be unintentionally hurtful. It was a constant fight managing her OCD. Her high school sweetheart and husband for over a decade was exactly the opposite. Despite being an avid coffee drinker he was not the type to zip through life. He was kind, patient, rarely phased and seemed to take every last thing in stride. Life was not for hurrying. If things weren’t perfect, it was fine. The world wouldn’t end. He would rarely raise his voice and even more rarer still would he get angry. Perhaps growing up with hippies for parents had much to do with his mellow outlook on life. Watching his wife fuss about the house was like watching a busy hummingbird. Enjoyable to watch but stay clear of the flight path to avoid a collision. Those hurt and were best avoided at all costs. Especially when she was in a mood like today. Hearing a car nearing their home, the woman hurried to the window to see if anyone was coming. Dejectedly her shoulders slumped as the car passed slowly by. Screeching sounds of a kitchen timer pulled her back from the window once more. Loudly muttering her annoyance at the shrill screech, she hurried her way into the kitchen. Fingers fumbled to press the buttons, attempting to cease the ruckus from the electronic banshee. Old stubborn timer finally silenced after multiple tries. An irritated hand roughly slammed the device onto the counter top, a final beep crying out at the mistreatment. The aroma of baked cookies would have been more pleasant except for the smell of the previously burnt batch clinging in the air. Lightly browned chocolate chip cookies pulled from the oven, perfectly golden. Deftly transferred to a cooling rack to cool, the remaining dough scraped from the bowl. Seeing that there wasn't enough for another full sheet, the woman impatiently made four oversized cookies. Placing the pan back in the oven, timer set, kitchen swiftly tidied, she returned to the living room to plop down on the couch. Gently she leaned against her easygoing husband, baffled by the fact that hardly anything ever phased him. “I really hate waiting like this. It's just pure torture and I get so stressed out that I don't even know what to do with myself. Sitting here just waiting until some undetermined point in time. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't think about every possible little thing that could go wrong and obsessing over it.” She clenched her hands wishing she had something to punch to dispel the stress. Well, as long as it didn't leave her in pain. But she knew she would get hurt more than the thing getting hit. Her husband still didn't let her forget the time when she tripped over a clump of grass back in high school as they walked to his house together. Her husband's mild teasing about it never ceased. “Don't worry so much. They'll be here soon.” His deep voice soothing in its mellowness. The look she gave the man didn't even remotely appear as if the ball of anxiety would dissipate so easily. Silence descended as the clock ticked away. In an idyllic world this would be the time where the snow would begin to gently fall, dusting the landscape in winter's wonder. Instead the weather acted more like a grumpy and bitter old man who could care less about anyone's view of how things aught to be. Once more the digital timer hollered like an alley cat. Grudgingly the woman heeded to the ruckus and returned to the kitchen. With a sigh she stared at the oversized sweets that were much too large to fit neatly on the plate with the rest of the batch. Irritatedly she took a large bite out of a warm cookie snatched from the cooling rack. Right on queue, rambunctious knocking resounded from the front door. The sudden noise startled the woman making her nearly choke. Quickly she swallowed what she could before hurrying to the ruckus. Already the man was poised to let the visitors in. Hand hovering near the doorknob as he looked back over his shoulder waiting for his wife. Dark figures wiggled on the other side of the oval stained glass window in the door. The butterflies suddenly springing up in her stomach made her feel nervous and sick. Before another heartbeat could sound, the front door was opened. Screeching tires peeling out on the road went virtually unnoticed as the children descended loudly on the home. “That yard isn't too bad but I'm gonna need more space. We might need to put up a solid wood fence or something because I can't have strangers spying on my troops.” A small girl in long red braids loudly stated as she walked in, as if she had done that very thing for years. Outfitted in secondhand clothing that didn’t suit the chill weather, the girl seemed to have no concern that her short sleeve shirt, tattered jean skirt didn’t even reach her knees, bare legs and thin windbreaker would have left her chilled to the bone if she had been outside for very long. A lack of socks with her oversized shoes did not improve her attire, especially since her footwear was practically falling apart. “I smell cookies! I am kinda hungry. If no one would mind parting with a few of them I could help make sure they won't go stale.” The older curly red-haired girl batted her eyes as she smiled sweetly. To be honest, she looked old enough to be the children's caretaker even if her manners reflected someone much younger. Wearing a white puffed sleeve shirt haphazardly tucked into her simple blue and white patchwork skirt, the pale skinned girl looked positively frozen. The newest thing in her outfit seemed to be her scuffed up blue canvas shoes yet even those were far from new. She seemed not to notice the small boy clinging to her as she blissfully smelled the warm sugary air. “You already ate two hot fudge Sundays before we got here.” The shy little boy looked startled as he realized his new mother was looking at him while he quietly mumbled. Immediately he hid behind the arm he was clinging to, pale colored hair poking out from his hiding place. His attire fared only slightly better than what his sisters were wearing. At least his white and pale gray striped shirt had long sleeves. Olive green pants surely did not fit him and looked like they were made for someone twice his size from how they were bunched at the waist. Even so, the pant leg only reached just below his knees. At least he had socks poking out from his high-top shoes. Hurriedly the small group was welcomed into the home as the door was promptly closed to keep the winter's biting chill at bay. “I'm gonna take a grand tour of this place to see if it’s good enough for my troops. I need space, lots of space!” The young girl quickly scanned the entry hall before wandering around, opening nearby doors looking at the unfamiliar surroundings. Nervously the woman spoke up before the fireball of a child wandered off, stomping her way up the stairs. “Ah, Rainie? How about Daddy can show you around?” It was obvious that the woman was not used to having such a boisterous child in her home. “Who?” Swiftly the girl turned around, braids swinging behind her with her face screwed up in confusion. “Oh, that guy. Hey Dad, I'm gonna need a hose, duct tape, peanut butter, and ten feet of dry spaghetti.” The man laughed heartily. “What? No parachute or jello too?” cheekily Ravendruid grinned as his wife gave him an alarmed look. The outspoken girl shivered as disgust spread across her face. “Jello just isn't natural. It wiggles on it's own as it watches you. One day all the blobs of jello might band together and have a hostile takeover. The only way you know they were coming was from the *splat!* *splat!* *splat!* noise coming for you in the dark.” Once more the girl shivered attempting to dislodge the thoroughly unpleasant thought. “Rainie knock it off! You're going to scare Tama.” Crossing her arms, Yuriko gave Rainie a dirty look. “Jello is evil Yuriko! Its like land walking jellyfish, sneaking in with pretty colors to make everyone think there is nothing harmful about it!” wildly Rainie's hands flailed about as she spoke. “I'm not scared of jello. I just don't like it.” Tamayuki muttered to no one in particular. “Alright my good man, lead on!” Boisterously the girl grabbed her new father's sleeve, dragging him further into the house. Clearly the intricacies of the word ‘lead’ was lost on the young girl. “Would you like some cookies?” The woman asked the remaining children. “Oh yes please, we are positively starving!” At the mention of sweets, Yuriko's face lit up and her smile blossomed. Through the living room and into the brightly lit kitchen, the newcomers looked at their new home in amazement. It wasn’t new. It wasn’t fancy. But it looked well loved. Multiple windows in the kitchen and dining area looked out into the countryside. Once the treats were retrieved, glasses of milk poured, their new mother finally had the chance for a chat seated around the large dinner table. Admittedly Sister Kyoya would get a bit nervous thinking of the mischief her husband and her new younger daughter were likely finding for themselves. “Cookies and milk! Can't go wrong with a classic!” Greedily Yuriko snatched a big cookie, taking a substantial sized bite. Belatedly grabbing another, much smaller cookie, swiftly putting it on Tamayuki's napkin. “Are you alright with drinking almond milk?” Sister Kyoya hadn't thought beforehand if the children might have food allergies. “How does someone even milk an almond? You'd have to squeeze pretty hard but what's the point? Almonds don't taste like anything. Maybe they just come from almond colored cows. All that matters is that it tastes good with cookies.” Without hesitation Yuriko started on her second helping. The treat was split in half, shoving one part into her mouth as the other part received a quick dunk in the milk. Without a moment of hesitation the cookie was conquered. Another was soon to follow. “I do have to say that your adoption picture made you look much younger.” To the best of her ability the woman tried to be tactful. “Yeah, that was taken about five years ago.” Happily the girl continued to eat. “Yuriko, ah...” it was clear that Sister Kyoya was uncomfortable with what she was trying to ask. “Isn't that just the most adorable and cutest name? I thought of it myself.” “Why did you use an old picture?” A look of concern showed on the woman's face. Her new daughter’s smile faded as she grew quiet, eyes downcast. It was obviously the one question she didn't want to answer. Intently looking at the cookie she fidgeted with as if it had some solution. Unhappily she answered. “Nobody wants to adopt a barely eighteen year old girl. They think that just because of a number that I wouldn't want to have parents of my own. I try to be a good girl. I really do. I'm super cute too. But the adoption agency said no one wants to adopt girls after they get too old. If I didn't get adopted this time, I never would.” She didn't want to look up and see the woman's face since she already knew what was coming. Even the silent Tamayuki looked deeply upset on her behalf. “I'll be honest with you. The moment your daddy saw your picture he knew you were his girl. When he makes his mind up on something, it would be easier to pick up and move an ocean than to have him decide on something else. Trust me on this. Someday I'll tell you the story about how we met. Your daddy has a pretty strong stubborn streak.” Cheerfully their mother smiled. “You mean I can stay?” The girl looked like she was nearly going to cry, eyes as big as the cookies she was snarfing. Standing up and walking behind the girl, her mother gave he a warm hug. “Of course you can dearheart. Your daddy and I wouldn't have it any other way.” “Thank you.” The words were so soft that the woman almost didn’t hear them. “However, there is one other question I do have...” Suddenly Yuriko looked worried. “Where is Naiomi?” Concern wrinkled their mother's forehead as she sat back down. “Oh! I meant to tell you about that. The day before we left, Naiomi got a scholarship from her school to go to England with her drama club. The girl that had it got sick and suddenly couldn't go so it was given to Naiomi. She said she really wanted to meet you guys but then she started going off and talking about some old guy who wrote some stuff. He might be an actor too. I don't know because she didn't make any sense since it wasn't about sweets, video games, or anime. All I can remember is something like she wanted to eat a MacBeth burger with a ham omelet, and get some merchandise in Venice. She's supposed to be a really good student, but even I don't think Venice is in England. I dunno. Maybe it is.” Sister Kyoya just shook her head and smirked. “Do you know how long she is intended to be gone?” Yuriko had to stop and think. “Three months? Six months? Something like that. I dunno, It’s an exchange student thingie. Something like that. I told her that she needs to make me more clothes when she gets back. She should have plenty of time since she won't be making all those costumes for the other kids in the orphanage.” “Why would she make costumes?” More than a little surprised, Sister Kyoya was curious to know the answer. “Oh, because she was always making us do plays and stuff.” Happily she went back to eating more cookies. Suddenly loud running footsteps interrupted the conversation as Rainie thundered up the stairs near the kitchen, clenching something blue in her hands. “Yuriko! They have Pokémon!” Exuberantly she waved the DS in front of the older girl's shocked face. Yuriko’s eyes grew wide as if the heavens had just opened up on her. “Video games? Do they have more? Show me where they are!!” Abandoning the conversation as if it were a hat on fire, Yuriko popped out of her chair so the young girl could lead the way. Of course not without a cookie in each hand. Completely infatuated with the prospect of indulging in video games, the girls left Tamayuki without a second thought. Two pairs of footsteps loudly made their way down into the basement. An unmistakable squeal of delight from Yuriko carried through the house as she discovered the shelf of console games. Ever so shyly the small boy looked at the woman sitting across the table, his deep blue eyes slowly growing larger after his sisters bailed on him. It was apparent that he was going to be expected to say something. Frozen with the impending doom, he pinched his lips together as if they were glued shut. Watching as his new mother sighed over her shoulder, slightly shaking her head at the rambunctious girls. Tamayuki tried to slide down in the chair, hoping to blend in like a chameleon. “Are you very hungry Tama?” She looked at the cookie that still sat on his napkin with only a couple of bites missing. The glass of milk however sat completely empty. Slowly he nodded his head in agreement while staying supremely quiet. “Do you like sweets?” He shook his head negatively. “What kind of things do you like to eat?” The boy chewed on his lower lip as his eyes looked at anything that wasn't the person who was trying to talk to him. There was a hope if he didn't say something for long enough that the question would go away or that his companions would come back and save him. It didn't happen. The longer the question loomed the more awkward he became. Finally his lips opened up and a tiny mumbled sound came out. “What was that?” his mommy replied sweetly. “Rice.” “Ah, so you like rice? Do you have a favorite way to eat it?” The boy nodded. She could see the herculean effort he was achieving to talk as the words had to force themselves out. “Onigiri... with... little nori faces.” “I might know a thing or two about making those.” she winked at the boy as his amazement became obvious. “How about we get the rice cooking then figure out what else to eat. It’s getting close to lunch anyway. You are 12 years old aren't you Tama?” “Yeah. But I'm just short and little.” Timidly he got out of the chair and followed the woman, still keeping his distance. His feet would only take him as far as the end of the island in the center of the kitchen where he silently stood. Sister Kyoya pulled out a pan, rice, and a strainer, efficiently rinsing the grains before setting it to begin cooking. “Little but adorable. If you ask me, that's the best kind.” Gently his mother smiled at him. Bashfully he blushed as he looked down at his toes. Out of the corner of her eye, Sister Kyoya could see his delighted smile. Intently the small boy watched his mother as she hurried about the kitchen preparing lunch. Checking once more that everything was ready, the woman asked her little boy to help set the table. Carefully he placed the dishes of food on the table that he was handed, stopping and smelling each one before placing it down. His tummy growled very softly. “I think that should do it for now. The bigger challenge is getting everyone away from the video games and upstairs to eat.” The woman chuckled. Regretfully Tama pulled his hungry stare from the table of food. Wordlessly he followed behind as they headed towards the ruckus in the basement rec room. A cacophony of noise from the trio of gamers overwhelmed the sound of footsteps down the stairs. “Alright everyone, time to eat lunch.” Sister Kyoya announced. “Hey! Who hit me with that turtle shell? I was winning!” Rainie complained over the injustice. “You snooze, you lose!” A wide smile spread across Yuriko's face. A fierce battle of Mario Kart was clearly underway as the widescreen TV mesmerized the drivers. “Ha! I did it!” Raven cheered as the two girls moaned in defeat. He was obviously enjoying the challenge as much as his daughters were. “Lunch anyone? I'd like to eat before it gets cold.” “Not yet Mama. We still have one more course in the tournament.” Yuriko’s red curls bounced as she waggled her head. “Just try and beat me this time!!” Raven laughed triumphantly before the race had even started. “Why do you always get the big porky guy? You should play the big gorilla!” Raven took a moment to look at Rainie, his face starkly serious. “Nope. You could never pull off being Wario. Your mustache isn't big enough.” He didn't even crack a smile as he stroked his bushy mustache. “Mustache? I'll show you a mustache! Just you wait!” It was clear that Rainie did not intend to lose, even if it wasn't a fight she could win. “Ewww... Girls don't grow mustaches! Only stinky boys do. Girls are better anyway. Especially Princess Peach.” Popping the remaining bite of cookie into her mouth, Yuriko replied as if it was an obvious fact. Raven arched an eyebrow. “So I'm stinky?” “You're not a boy, you're my Daddy. That's not the same thing. I think a daddy should have a mustache and glasses.” Yuriko had yet to pry her gaze away from the television. “Really?” Raven grinned in amusement. “Of course. Because that's what my Daddy looks like.” her opinion was stated in such a matter-of-fact manner that it was clear that she didn't assume it could be any other way. “This turtle dinosaur guy looks like a Pokemon. I'm gonna play him so enough yacking! I'm here to race!” Energetically the young girl bounced her tush on the couch. “We were waiting for you to pick your car slowpoke.” Yuriko stuck her tongue out at her little sister. “If I’m a Slowpoke then you are a Muk!” “Bah! Even those can’t compare the the majesty of the Magikarp!” Raven laughed. “What?? Are you crazy? That thing is totally useless!” Rainie stood up and faced her father, ready to debate the merits of the usefulness of various Pokémon. Behind her, multiple sets of tires screeched into action as the last race started. Swiftly turning around the young girl protested. “HEY! That’s not fair!” Frantically she mashed buttons to catch up. The banter continued as the trio raced for bragging rights as they flailed with the Wiimotes. Good-natured teasing flew between the competitors as laughter filled the room. Sister Kyoya leaned against the stair railing as she waited for the game to finish. Ever so gently she felt a small hand rest inside her own. Timidly the boy looked up at her, seeing the corner of her mouth turn up as she smiled. Even though she didn't move to look at him she gently squeezed his hand affectionately. “Ahhh! I fell off the mushroom again! Stupid car!” Rainie was clearly disgusted at the injustice. “Then don't use your mushroom boosts before you jump on them!” blurted Yuriko. “Who threw the banana peel right in front of me?!?” the surprise attack had clearly caught Raven off-guard. “Oopsie!” Yuriko's unapologetic giggle made it clear who the culprit was. “Come on, come on!!” Madly Raven mashed the button on the Wiimote to launch his remaining arsenal. “I win!!” The older girl clapped and cheered for herself as she snatched the victory away from her competitors. “I was almost there too! Next time I won't let you off so easy!” the man obviously didn't want to admit defeat. “I hate that track! It's worse than the one with all the lava!” Rainie kicked her heels against the couch. “I think my prize should be two extra cookies.” Looking down, Yuriko seemed to be surprised that she had eaten all her treats. “No more cookies. It’s time to eat lunch.” by her tone, the mother's word was final.

    Welcome to Badger Pocket

[ Preface ] Within these pages is an attempt to tell the stories of our family, as meandering and non-linear as they have been. This is not an easy task as the timelines of all the kids have gotten muddled one way or another along the way. Some of it is because of certain meddlers, magic users, magical accidents, and kiddos who found a way to go adventuring in my fantasy world that have all put their spin on how things work. Sometimes the flow of everyone’s busy lives just blur the timelines and I simply have a hard time remembering it all. I’m sure there will be incongruent errors pop up from time to time, especially for Ralph because he seems to enjoy bending time. I will do my best to still make sense of things as best as I can. Some things even we are still trying to uncover and sort out. What is Badger Pocket? Technically Badger Pocket is a road in Kittitas County, the same county I grew up in. Every once in a while in grade school someone would be from Badger Pocket or would know someone there. In my small hometown, Badger Pocket was about as rural and out in the sticks as someone could get and still be in the same county. So what does it have to do with our Kiddos? I always loved the name and always dreamed of living out in the middle of the countryside. Out in the wide open spaces of pastures and hay fields, where the wide open blue skies seemed endless. Where it seemed like someone would have to run for a hundred years to reach the dark blue Cascade mountain range faintly capping off the edge of the world in the distance and Mount Rainier can easily be seen on clear days. Country will always be in my blood. For a long time I struggled to figure out how to have a modern setting to write the Kiddo’s stories in. A couple years back I started working on writing their story from the beginning, set in our actual house. I doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that if the DD were their realistic size… that our puny house was not going to fit even our original four without everyone going insane. Our current count is teetering on 30… and with residents who cross time and dimensions… I had to think of a new solution. Plus I’m just really bad at writing non-fantasy based stories. I don’t know why, I just know I find it unbelievably hard and not really fun at all. The clear solution seemed to be an interdimensional pocket dimension. Realistically it starts out as a house plopped on some land out in the boonies, the home I wished I could always have. It really was the only way to make sense of our family stories. Sometimes I think of it as a ‘seed world’ because it keeps expanding to add the things that are needed (a school, workplaces, stores, neighbors, etc.) It is intended to be a more modern setting, but it is surely not without it’s hidden magic. I couldn’t think of a better name for this rural home away from home than Badger Pocket. [ The Family Tree ] I will attempt to explain this as best as I can. Over the years our family connections have become convoluted at best. I have laid this out in a manner that I hope will be clear and as up to date as things stand at the moment. I avoided adding some things that I personally know are in later stories but did not see as relevant at the moment. - Blood Relations - Names are listed from oldest to youngest, even the twins. Day: Ralph (16), Rainie (13), Ringo (13) [siblings] Hunter: Ellie (17) & Eddie (13) [siblings] Patches: Daisy (19) [cousin of Ellie & Eddie] Dahl: Bea (24 (sure...)) & Skipper (13) [mother & daughter] Phoenix: Dakota (20) [Sister of Bea, Aunt of Skipper] Liley: Yuriko (18) & Poppy (12) [siblings] Kagilia-GrakXaharl: Madison (19), Sohi (16), Gizella (13), Bree (??) [siblings] CutieGoth: Lorelai (15) & Isabella (13 3/4) [siblings] Mellore twins: Azalia (15) & Alister (15) [siblings] Marceau: René* (20 something) & Tristan** (18) Two others that are cannon in my head now but have not been completed in DD for are as follows: Watanabe: Naiomi (17) & Minoru (12) Jeffcote: Kimberly (?) & Nicholas (13) *René has not even been attempted in DD form yet but he is a solid character I have already written quite a bit about. In short, he’s Tristan’s flamboyant older brother. **There are a few names that have gotten tweaked over time, mostly the Vocaloids because when they turned up in my fantasy world I didn’t want to use their original names in case I decided to officially publish those stories at some point. So Kiyoteru was changed to Tristan quite a long while back in some writing I did 2-3 years ago. It has taken longer to percolate into his DD form because his original Japanese name just no longer fits the character even if that’s who he was supposed to be. The only other Vocaloid name change that I know of is Miku becomes Mika in my fantasy world but I don’t think I’ve even written anything with her yet. This does not change her DD name however. - Adopted - This, as straightforward as it may seem, is where things start to get a bit messy. Tamayuki, Yuriko, Poppy, Naiomi, Rainie, Ringo, Ralph, Sohi, Gizella, Bree, Ellie & Eddie. These are the ‘officially’ adopted kids/adopted siblings (as part of their backstory) but the only one I’m confused over is Gizella. Technically she was never actually adopted, but kinda adopted herself in. Sort of. She doesn’t see the others as her siblings (except her actual blood siblings) but still sees me as her ‘new mommy because you are a lot nicer than my other one.” She still has both of her original parents (goblin mother, human father) but they are still back in her original world. Madison however is not adopted. At all. More about the Kagilia-GrakXaharl family dynamics will pop up in stories later. It’s not a simple puzzle. Everyone else in our household are classified as significant others, friends of the family, or neighbors & classmates. - Origins - This is one of those areas where I start to get a bit confused because they originated from all over the place. Some of the Kiddos hopping back and forth between my fantasy world (Lennador) and Badger Pocket does not make it any less confusing. Lennador: Tamayuki, Dolly, Hana, Madison, Sohi, Gizella, Bree, Miss Lottie, René, Lillian, Ollie, Tristan, Nicholas, & Kimberly Badger Pocket: Yuriko, Naiomi, Rainie, Ringo, Ralph, Poppy, Eddie, Ellie, Lucas, Dakota, Lorelai, Isabella, Dirk, & Willow Planet Crypton Future Media 😉: Miku, Len & Luka Shady Grove (later morphed into Lennador): Alister & Azalea Sci-Fi Lennador: Evan & Omar Other: Daisy, Andy, Darla, Bea, Skipper, Kyoya, Hatoko, Minoru, Jessie & James - Relationships - Tama (12) & Lucas (15) [boyfriends] Yuriko & Dakota [girlfriends] Naiomi & Tristan [girlfriend/boyfriend] Naiomi & Darla [urgh… all I know to call it is ‘friends with complications’ who are not romantically involved. This will have to be explained in a story.] René & Lillian [creator/creation] Ringo & Miku [girlfriends] Ralph & Ellie [girlfriend/boyfriend, and yes this is kinda weird since they are technically adopted siblings. I take the anime/manga stance that it’s fine since they are not blood relatives, even if it still makes it a bit weird.] Daisy & Andy (19-22?) [betrothed & share a last name because of it.] Other (more simple) explanations like best friends, etc. will be explained in their Doll Directory bios because it’s simple to do there and this post is already long enough as it is. - Anomalies - I really didn’t want to have a section like this, but it is unavoidable because of the (at least) three different dimensions that are all tangled up together in Badger Pocket. Ollie Wibberly (18): The original ‘blonde shorty’, as I have been writing him in my fantasy world for 8+ years now, so far exclusively in yaoi stories. I think of my fantasy world, Lennador, as ‘the past.’ Tamayuki Otake: He was entirely based on a much younger, innocent version of Ollie, but is not directly supposed to be Ollie. Tama ls a variation of him but also distinctly himself. Tama is a snow pixie while Ollie is purely a non-magical human. I often think of Tama as ‘present Ollie.’ Evan Song (20 something?): *sigh* I never intended for this to get so complicated. I simply started writing a story one day, seeing if I could write something more sci-fi rather than fantasy. They aren’t all that different, right? Just replace magic with tech and it should be easy… Let me tell you it is FAR from easy. There was this tall dorky character who could not get along with ‘ancient’ computers despite being a researcher. I don’t remember how I realized he was ‘future Ollie’ but it was certainly years after I wrote it. It really wouldn’t be worth mention except at some point he obtained an old pocket watch that is not what it seems. Even though he comes from future Lennador eons and eons, and eons into the future, there are still some things from the original Lennador that persist. That troublesome pocket watch is is one. Without even knowing what he’s doing he uses it to travel through time & space. Only to end up on our doorstep. Excuse me for a moment while I bash my head into the keyboard. You could think of these three as either reincarnations of each other or parallel universe versions of each other and it is pretty accurate. But this muddled soup does not end here. In the original Lennador story, Ollie’s close group of friends/housemates are Tomas, Corbin, Jesse & Forrest. I wouldn’t really mention them either but they seem to have this similar reincarnation/parallel universe issue too, even within their own world. They are variations on a story that keeps being retold. It wasn’t intended to be. But magic in Lennador makes its own rules. And I’m just dragged along trying to dobleepent it all. So Ollie, Tomas & Corbin are never separated. If one pops up in a story, the other two will be following not too far behind. I’m a little bothered by the fact that Jesse and Forrest I have only ever seen in (past/fantasy) Lennador. I can’t sort out where or if they are in the other versions. If they do exist, I have not identified them yet. For some of my most beloved characters that worries me. Especially since Corbin is involved (I’ll get to that, sort of, in a minute.) Tomas at least is pretty straight forward. Lucas (present Tomas) is pretty similar even if he is a few years younger. One is just the slightly updated version of the same personality, even if their pasts are quite different. I don’t know much about future Tomas except for his looks and that his name is Karr D’nall. Yes, he has red hair. I blame Corbin for the name. 100%. And Corbin… ugh… If you think all of the above stuff was confusing, it is utterly simple compared to Corbin. I will tell you he is FULL of secrets and hardly any of them I can talk about. I would gladly spill all the beans except he has his fingers in pies all over (past/fantasy) Lennador and I can’t talk about them without utterly spoiling things throughout my fantasy world. I will say that he goes out of his way to protect what’s important to him. Ollie, Tomas & Bree are more important to him than anything else. He also likes to keep himself busy with whatever interests him at the time. Because of that he can be a troublemaker and problematic. Often because I haven’t reached a point where I can start explaining what he is really doing. I was happy when I had him contained within my fantasy world. But he found his way through into Badger Pocket. He thought he could get away with sneaking in as a chibi size so I wouldn’t notice, but it is the same mind behind his big Pure Neemo eyes. So far ‘Corey’ has behaved himself and just kept his eyes on his friends (Tama, Lucas, Bree & Evan) but I fear the day that he starts getting bored. Chaos would be a mild way to put it. I just keep my fingers crossed that he will behave himself. He is not as innocent as he seems. Not at all. He keeps himself hidden under masks and secrets, but his future self, Jak Daw, is closer to his true self than I have written about so far in Lennador. And yes, these future names are ridiculous and easy to figure out. They are relevant but I’m not going to explain it. Corbin is one massive puzzle. The only thing that doesn’t seem to change is his difficult speech pattern. If there is something about our family connections that you are still wondering about that is not covered here, just ask me. It is likely I simply forgot to add it. Lastly, if there is mention of an old man… be suspicious. He’s a meddler. One big, fat, gigantic, meddler. ~SK

    Any wig ideas?

Hi. I don't know if this is the right topic to ask this but I'm thinking of changing the colour of Miku's wig. But sense I'm terrible with this kind of stuff (lol) I'm not sure what colours will look good on her. If anyone has any ideas please let me know (Or pictures if you have her) Thanks! :3

    A Reunion Interrupted

We bring you this broadcast to open up a box containing a new DD gal on this Christmas Day, 2018. But, what may be lying ahead? We’ll soon find out… --- “Man, I’ve been waiting for months for this day…I can’t wait to see your face again. Miu…” --- Meanwhile… --- ???- “What’s going on? Why is she so hesitant to get to this box? Why’s it so important? Hmm…” --- “Hey, what’s going on here!” *Gasps* “Tea, what are you doing?! You friggin’ made my heart jump!” “I wanted to know why this box was so important and maybe lend a hand at opening it!” *Tea gets up onto the box* --- This is Tea. My friend’s dollfie dream. Wait, you thought we sold her? Nah, we just sold the DDH-03 SW head when we found the real Tea, a Yukino V2 (who came installed with the eyes she’s currently wearing). We like to call the previous head we sold, “Tea’s clone”. The head ended up just filling in her spot until she came home. And here she is, all ready to help out with the box opening! “Tea, I appreciate the offer for help, but come on and get down off of there so I can get her open.” “Awh,…okay.” --- “Hey, you in there, we are gunna get you out!” “We?” “Yeah, we! I said I wanted to lend a hand at opening the box!” “Nah, Tea. It’ll be okay. I got this under control. But again, thank you.” *Picks Tea up and sits her down onto the floor* --- “You just sit there and stay out of trouble.” “Hmph, I still think I could help but…fine.” --- “Here I go. Miu, you will soon be freed!” --- --- *Gasps* “TEA!” “Yaaaay, peanuts! Weeeheeeheeehee!” *throws peanuts up into the air* “It’s like a party in here along with being like a bed!” “Tea, get out of there! You’re right on top of her!” “Fine, fine. You can be such a party pooper.” --- “Okay, this is it. Moment of truth. Time to get her out of there!” --- “Man, they really outdid themselves. Good job whoever packaged this.” --- “Hello there, Miu. We meet, once again.” *Lays box down to open* --- “Hi, Miu! I’m Tea! We’ll get you out of there soon!" “C’mon, Tea. Give her some room. You’ll be able to meet her very soon.” *Pats Tea on the head* --- My heart just melts looking at her face as she’s looking up at me in curiosity (and possibly joy). *Gets her free from the plastic and ribbon ties* --- “Hi there, once again, Miu. I’m (insert my real name here). Welcome home.” Miu – “Hello. Thank you for getting me out of there, but where…, exactly, am I?” “You’re at my home where I live. You’ll be a part of my family now. That’s Tea, over there. She also lives here and will basically be like your roommate. You’ll be safe here, trust me.” “Hey there, Miu….oooh!” “What is it, Tea?” --- “She…she doesn’t have any clothes on!” “She originally comes like that, Tea. Even you came exactly just as nude as her and so have I. We are all brought into this world just in our “birthday suit” as some people like to call it.” “What?! I did? Well…I guess that does make some sense now that you put it that way. We should get her some clothes to put on!” “No problem, I have them all right here. You ready, Miu?” “Sure. It is quite chilly and I could use something to cover up.” --- “All good to go!” “There. Now, Tea, you can formally introduce yourself.” --- “Welcome home, Miu. Like she said, I’m Tea and I’ll keep ya company! I got your back!” “Thank you, Tea. Nice to meet you. It’s good to finally be out of that old box! Thank you, (insert my real name here), for bringing me home!” --- Miu Today --- Currently on DDS S Bust Body --- Thank you for joining in on Miu’s welcoming home and Tea’s basic introduction! 💕 Tea was originally an 03 SW blank head that my friend bought off of Volks USA. We wanted a V2 but they were sold out and discontinued by the time he seriously thought about getting one. Fortunately, one day I was browsing around Mandarake and found a V2 Yukino with those beautiful, purple eyes installed. I had to mention it to him and we bought her quickly. So, the old head had to be sold and the new/”real” Tea came into our lives. Tea, as she is now, was opened on August, 6th, 2018. She has stolen my heart a bit especially since I see a quite mischievous side in her though her real character that my friend is making her into is not like that at all. Haha~ So, in retrospect, Tea’s personality/character in this photo story is mainly how I see her currently and is not a reflection on who she will become once my friend fully customizes her to be who she truly is. She will end up being different once finished. Regardless of that, he does seem to enjoy her and hopes for the day he ends up being able to fully customize her into who she is meant to be. For now, Miu and Tea both say goodbye! 👋 --- **Disclaimer: This is my first ever photo story. It will, most likely, be the one and only photostory that I make. I plan on just sharing photos on my Flickr (and/or maybe Instagram if I ever make an account) and commenting on the forums from now on. Just wanted to throw that out there for anyone who’s curious.**

    A Lovely Return

Hello everyone! Thank you for visiting my thread! Today, I will be sharing with you an unboxing of a very special DD that has always been close to my heart since I originally encountered her sculpt… Miu Amaha. I got her on a 5 month layaway last year around the summer months via Rinkya after winning her in an auction (Rinkya actually allows 5-month layaways for purchases over $250 USD). She arrived to me around mid November but I planned on her being my Christmas present so I did not open her until Christmas morning! Please welcome my dearest Miu back (even though she is not the exact same Miu or Umi from before) ! --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Thank you for stopping by and seeing her unboxing! 💕 --- 🌟🌟🌟 An update on how she’s doing currently is that she has changed bodies and is now on a DDS S bust body. I’m planning on upgrading her to a M bust and seeing how she takes to it but if she decides she likes the S Bust, then that’s how it’ll be. She seems much happier on this body than on the DDdy (ironic as my past Miu was on a DDS body for quite some time and I did like her that way better overall), which I'm very happy about though unfortunate that the DDdy didn't end up suiting either of our tastes. Regardless, her eyes just seemed to light up when I put her on the DDS body and she seemed to open up to me more too, which was great. It felt a little awkward for a bit, at the beginning, and I was starting to worry, but luckily, the body changed helped! 😊 Again, thank you for taking a look! I’ll have more about her on the new doll info page in the future for anyone curious to know more! Hope you all have a wonderful afternoon! 👋
