I've recently become somewhat interested in unitorsos! However I couldn't really find the info I was looking for when I was searching it up so I wrote down a few questions. I'm mostly curious about the visual aspects and differences of the unitorsos in comparison to each other and the two piece torso (aside from the obvious difference with the seams). Is there a difference between the DD and DDS unitorsos? Are there differences between bust molds ? For example Volk's photo of the DD L bust unitorso looks more natural than the DD L bust piece imo. I cant tell if this is just because of the angle. Thanks in advance! Any comments & photo references are much appreciated!

I'm new to the world of vinyl dolls, and I just got Hatsune Miku, my first Dollfie on December 28th. I have some newbie questions, I hope that you all don't mind answering. Are Dollfie faceups sealed? Is there some substance I should avoid, like isopropyl alcohol or nail polish? If they touch her, will she melt? I'm asking that because I would like to give Miku her classic bangs, and I was considering using hair gel, but not if it'll melt her face! I'm really reluctant to take her wig off, since it was a fight to get it on her head. Should I use white glue instead? I was told that vinyl dolls don't yellow even in the sun, is that true? Do they have a low temperature range I should avoid? I'd love to take her out and do a photoshoot in the snow...when we get some. (Climate change sucks!) Is there a top heat range I should also worry about? I'm guessing leaving her in a hot car is also a no-no. I know that there are high and low temp limits with resin BJDs, but I've taken mine out in the snow and on a sunny summer beach with no problems. How often will I need to take her apart and tighten her? I play with her pretty often, right now she's sitting next to me watching me type and watching music videos. I often watch TV/movies with my BJDs as well, especially late at night. I'm sure I'll think of other questions, and when I do, I'll probably ask them in this thread. Hi everybody! Now that she FINALLY has her wig and glasses, I'm back with another hybrid, one that I consider my personal magnum opus so far. Meet Sinclair! "Hi!" It might be hard to tell from this angle, but Sinclair is a very special hybrid - she's chubby! Like, ACTUALLY chubby. I've been wanting to make a mini-me for a long time, but considering I wear a size L everything, a normal Dollfie Dream or Obitsu just wasn't gonna cut it. I wanted my anime self to be realistic, so I turned to drastic measures: a wacky hybrid of Obitsu, DD, AP, and MDD parts, including a few subtractive mods and a hybrid frame. But more on the build in the next post. First, measurements! Sinclair is 47cm tall from head to foot, putting her at about the same height class as an AP or DDP. Her three measurements: Bust 24 cm, Waist 18 cm, Hip 26 cm. For pants, her thigh circumference is 16 cm, calf circumference is 10.5 cm, and her inseam is 18.5 cm. For shirts, her shoulders to her hips is 13 cm, and her arms are 15.5 cm long from wrist to shoulder. And since I measured it, from her hip to the bottom of her foot is 22.5 cm. Her thickest measurement is around both thighs, with her legs at their default position, and that's a whopping 28 cm! Her thighs are bigger than her hips and it's glorious. Not so glorious is the clothing options - she can only fit shirts that'll support a DD Large bust, but her arms are just slightly too short for tailored DD sleeves. Her thighs only fit SD pants, but even her thick calves drown in them...not to mention she needs like 10 more cm of height to get the fit just right. And her waist fits SD13 pants...and stuff that's intended to sit low on a DD's hips. So that's a no go for most DD pants. So far I've put her in two bottoms from DollDelights, some handmade SD capris, a handmade sweater, and a handmade handkerchief top all from Mandarake, and some SD Girl sized pants from Gavalloni Atelier, which fit nicely if you ignore the horrible fabric bunching at the ankles! Funnily enough, if it weren't for her waist, the official Angel Philia Office Lady pants I have were beautifully fitted on her. Perhaps if I get brave I'll try to make a pattern with them and adjust that. For now though, I'll plan on commissioning some pants and keeping a close eye on DollDelights for more cute stuff she can wear! Because this skirt is lovely. Her head is a DDH07, with a faceup and eyes by ねこまっしぐら (Neko Masshigura), and she has on a pair of Volks Jewelry Box glasses and a Dallas Doll Co wig. She uses DD hands and Obitsu 50 feet, my favorite hands and feet. The hybrid's got a pretty good color match - the only noticeable mismatch in tones is her shins, which have a pinker undertone than the rest of her. It barely shows up in photos, and is only really bad in person when she's in sunlight, so I don't mind it. The only major bummer about her is that she can't sit, due to a quirk in her construction that I'll get into. I'm not sure if that's something I'll ever be able to fix, either. We'll see.

Hi! I bought a head recently, and the previous owner said it is a white skin. But she looks different from both my white skin and my normal skin girls. Now I don't know if it can be a semi white, or a batch variation of any of the 2 other colors.... Can someone help me?

I hope this is the right section to place this thread, basically I want to make a hybrid doll. I want to use the body of DDdy flesh/normal skin tone and the head of a resin doll. The resin doll that I'm planning on buying is an E.I.D Iplehouse Yur, but I have no idea which skin tone will come close to match that of dollfie dream flesh tone, they offer: white, normal, peach gold and special real for that particular doll. So which skin color will best to match with DDdy flesh tone, please? 🧐

Hello! I'm Ryu, and I'm new to vinyl dolls. I've been a BJD servant collector since 2007. 😅 Years ago, I saw and fell hard for Hatsune Miku as a Dollfie Dream. I've wanted one ever since, so when the opportunity and the money made it possible, I jumped at the chance to get her! Now I'm waiting for her to arrive! I'm your typical nerdy guy who loves cute things. I'm into Doctor Who, Vocaloids, Sci-Fi. Fantasy, Horror, anime, RPG Video Games, Paganism, and other nerdy things. I put together my girls from different manufacturers. Pon (my MDD) is cheating because she's wearing heels LOL! Left to right: Anya (Obitsu 50 whitey head on 1/4 TinyFox body), Bao/Nahida (DDH27 on Dollbot body), Pon (Mini Dollfie Dream), Maya (Kizuna AI on Angel Philia Type-H body), and Chai (Smart Doll Chitose Classic in tea). I love them all equally. They all have their individual charm. I won't keep this post long, but will share what I love most and not like from each company. TinyFox Love: velvety (I don't know how to explain, but it's really smooth to touch), weight is similar to resin, can fit most MSD clothing, smaller than MDDs so she's easier to bring, can hybridize with Obitsu whitey/DD semi-white heads Not a fan of: limited posing Dollbot Love: lightweight, can hybridize with DD flesh/semi-white heads, less "thicc" than mochi-ashi, posing Not a fan of: can get loose - her feet is a little hard to get back on compared to MDD... the neck gap is quite obvious in some angles, and hand joints pop off too easily Mini/Dollfie Dream Love: easily available parts for customization, most clothing sizes fit on them, easily available apparel Not a fan of: can't hold poses too well, but can be fixed with a bit of tightening the joints Angel Philia Love: superior posing! lightweight, can easily hybridize with DD heads Not a fan of: sizing is kinda like DDP/mochi-ashi? so the clothing is quite tricky... it's personal preference, but to me the shorts should be 1/3 sized, skirts and dresses should be 1/4. Otherwise it might be too long or baggy on her. Smart Doll Love: posing, easily available apparel, lightweight, vinyl is harder Not a fan of: limited parts available for customization

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I wasn't sure if I should've put it in the DD or Obitsu section but I went with DD since it made more sense to me. I was wondering, would anyone happen to have any pictures of a AP bust on a DDS? I've seen a pic of AP busts on a DD but not a DDS. I am especially curious about how the G bust and C2 bust compare to the DDS M bust since I like the shape of those the most.

This will be where I post pics of the family. Mainly to help me see the changes through time of both the dolls appearances and photo skills. I'm starting off setting the bar really low. These are pics of Asumi trying out different wigs and outfits to find a look she likes.You can read more about her on her bio. Smartphone pics, minimal effort into posing, wigs not fresh from the salon and typically not even brushed, clothing not ironed, etc. I just couldn't wait to start trying. She first she had a go with an Angell Studio Blue Kite outfit and a Mimiel wig. The boots are Shoes Boutique, but no item codes. From this point on I don't have the make/manufacturer of the wigs or the clothing (aside from the pink Lingerie Box items that may or may not be visible.) I will update as I find the outfit information. She tried on this cute outfit and it fit like a glove. The wig had a nice gradient to it. Next she rocked some twin tails and a cozy winter outfit. She then wanted to try being a redhead She tried a strawberry blonde with some cargo shorts, a sleeveless tank and jacket She then took a break to relax. (No Asumi, I won't be joining you.) So she changed to a golden blonde and headed to the bath. After a quick bath, she relaxed a bit with Shirokuma Set-chan that arrived today. Asumi absolutely adores her so I let her keep playing while she went with blonde twin tails, a cute graphic crop tee and shorts. (Shorts were listed as a DDY, but fit well.) This is where she said she'd had enough of trying on different things for the day. Hopefully I can talk her into more soon. (The white sneakers are Shoes Boutique, but no item codes.)

Hi everyone~ I was wondering if I could get any advice on starting a Dollfie Dream custom project! This is my first doll, and my idea here is to make it as an addition to a character shrine. I have an anime figure collection and I'm trying to make a Holo shrine (Holo from Spice and Wolf) but I don't have a 1/4th figure to add to the lot (and I don't like the one that was released recently). Hence the need for a custom doll! After doing my research I figured an MDD or DDP body would work best since anything bigger might look strange with my figures but now for the rest... I'm torn. For reference, these are the previous Holo custom dolls I have found during my search: Made by Daniel Ting who used the DD Saber Alter Made by https://www.dolldreaming.com/profile/884-yuan/ who used a DDH-06 on a DD-II body Made by https://www.dolldreaming.com/profile/4858-roxanne/ who used a DDH-16 on a DD body until they could get a DDS body These are all amazing. Huge inspirations. And also much bigger than what I'm looking for. ^^" At first, I was considering using a DDH-07 since it looks the most like Holo to me. But after asking other doll collectors on MFC, I realized that head would look out of proportion on a DDP body (the largest body I'm considering). So I thought DDH-06 might be the next closest thing? (DDH-02 and DDH-05 would be my next options) Also! I love Iori's head too which I discovered from this thread: But I can't seem to find her. And the sold out ones on Mandarake are a bit over my price threshold for just a head regardless... 😕 Any advice?

Sorry if this has already been answered elsewhere (?) and if it's in the wrong category! I wasn't sure if this should go in the DD questions or DD clothes category. But does anyone know if shoes meant for SD16 or SDGR dolls would fit DD at all? I know Volks usually states what it fits in item descriptions, but I was looking at shoes from a different company that uses these sizes to list their shoes. The listing I was looking at says it fits SDGR, SD16, and DD, but before I'd read the listing I had asked what dolls they fit since I hadn't realized it was on their page, and they said SDGR and SD16 without mentioning DD at all? It's a bit confusing. The measurements given for this particular shoe are length 7.4cm, width 2.6cm, but it's not stated if that's inner or outer. It's a heeled long boot that goes up to the knee. Based on just the measurements it seems like it should fit, but I don't know if SDGR and SD16 are the types with 'heel feet' and if that affects how DD's regular flat feet would fit into heeled shoes made for those other doll sizes. I'm also not sure if differences in calf sizes would make the shoe too tight or too loose around the leg since it's a long boot. Does anyone have experience trying SDGR or SD16 shoes on DD? How was the fit in general?

I took a quick cellphone-photo of Nero in this hat I got a few days ago, and I decided to try photoshopping it into something nicer, as I don't have any matching clothes for it to warrant a whole photoshoot with the DSLR camera. Doll: DD Saber EXTRA (the outfit, though barely visible here, is from mana_jen on Instagram. The hat was from a local source.) Here's the before and after: I removed the background and replaced it with a photo, and did a bunch of lighting and colour correction edits. Overall I think it's passable? Definitely not as nice as a DSLR photo still, since it sort of lacks "depth" in a sense, but the results are making me want to try editing my proper photoshoot images this way too. I did all the editing with Clip Studio Paint!

I was able to get a secondhand head of Towa, and I thought it would make a good boy head. I wiped off the default faceup and repainted it to look like Noah from Xenoblade 3. I also did the eyes (first photo). I was fortunate to get a secondhand Smart Doll slim boy body in milk, which is a great match to DD's flesh. DD heads have bigger neck holes, so I had to secure the head with a cork. I think it holds up well.

Does anyone have good sources for buying lolita dresses / JSKs for DD, especially M or L bust? I'm mainly thinking of the skirt-border-print type dresses, like this, this, or this. Not the solid colour lace-detail type dresses like the BTSSB collabs with VOLKS. I sometimes see them for MDD and have bought one in that scale for a resin doll, but I've only seen one for DD so far and couldn't find the seller. I was thinking of sewing them myself since even if there are ones for DD they probably don't fit L bust, but I'm not very good at sewing so it would be a bit of a learning curve for me. Not to mention custom-printed fabric is expensive! I know there are affordable doll-scale lolita print fabrics on Etsy so I'm surprised I almost never see this type of dress pop up for DD, but maybe there's just not a lot of interest?

(This is the finished version of another topic) Hey everyone, so i have a question and i hope you guys that own a Mini Dollfie Dream can help me. So i plan to get a Mini Dollfie Dream doll, i have dreamed of owning one since January 2022 and im gonna slowly try to get the doll piece by piece. I could not use the "Insert Image from URL" do to not knowing how to do it all.. so go to the link below for the photos. Photos of Box So i got this box, its an Oculus box that my mother gave me, its 16.3/8" in Inches, i plan to use it for the doll, although i may turn it into sort of a bed lol. I plan to get a MDD body with small bust with a DDH-27 head (So i dont need to sand off lips) My question is simple.. will the doll fit in the box or will it be too big.. and show how much larger the doll will be to the box if it is too big for the box. Any help and information to help will be appreciated greatly! ^w^'

Hello everyone! It has been a very long time since I have discussed any of my dolls projects on the fourm. Usually I work on my own characters for a narrative I am in the process of writing, so I never feel like people would be interested enough in them to share, but I digress. This time around I am doing something completely different though! I feel like people would be very interested in seeing how she comes along and all the updates in the process of putting her together. So who is the lucky lady I feel like shelling into a doll? It's Uta from the new One Piece movie! Now as a disclaimer I know little to nothing about One Piece save for the main crew; but, I saw the new movie in theaters with my husband and family and I was blown away. It was fantastic, and I LOVED Uta. She made the movie for me. I wont say anything else about her, because spoilers are a no go in my book, but she is an awesome character. Awesome enough for me to want to shell. So what's the plan? Well the plan is to acquire a Smart Doll body on the second hand market, preferably milk skin tone, and go from there. Why Smart Doll? Because their legs are slender and long, much like One Piece legs (tm). I really have no idea what head sculpt to go after. A Nami would be perfect, but I am so, so scared for the after market prices and what people might do if I wipe her and paint her to resemble Uta instead. So, long story short, I need some help! What sculpts would you guys reccomend? Especially milk tone sculpts. I don't mind cinnamon, but really would prefer milk because she's a paler character. Some references of how her face looks from different angles. I am also ok with straying from her cannon face, so long as it looks close enough, like in the music videos for the soundtrack.
