    Hello everyone =^-^=

Hii!! My name is Eve and im from America, i am usually a lurker on forums but i would love to post about my doll! I've been interested in Dollfie Dreams for about 6 years and finally was able to get one this Christmas! I'll be posting photos of my Aria when i can ^_^ i am VERY new to this forum so i am still figuring out on how to navigate on here! I have collected Monster High for about 2-ish years before finally getting a small Azone May 2023, I am planning to buy more dollfie items such as wigs and clothes along with another doll in the future!! >.< I really hope to make friends here Though i am new to having a Dollfie of my own, i have researched them for years on social medias!! (Youtube, Twitter, ETC.) I have a very small doll family compared to others here, but i hope to grow it in the near future <333
  2. Sharing is giving, and I'd like to share a (quite) effective method of additive modifications to dollfie dream heads! It may possibly work for other vinyl doll heads but it needs more effort due to getting the right skintone color. Sculpt used: Dollfie Dream DDH28 - Eyeholes Closed Tools used: Gaianotes Colored Instant Adhesive in Flesh - can be bought here: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10772010 Cyanoacrylate Glue Activator Spray - this is necessary so that the glue will cure in seconds. CA glue is runny, and if you don't use this spray, it will take longer to cure and be uneven. Mini dremel/rotary tool (you can use what Volks has or what you can find in Amazon) Exacto knife Sandpapers of different grit (I used 150, 180, 400, 800) Polymer clay for 3D mouth parts Process: I only cut the eyeholes partially so that there's support underneath the additive mod. Applied the colored adhesive on the eyelids and some underneath the right eye. I kinda screwed up cutting out the eyes on that side. Sprayed activator immediately after applying glue. It only took about 30 seconds for the glue to fully cure. Sanded the glue using the rotary tool and sandpaper. Rinse repeat, until I got a more even finish. Not the cleanest mod, I also screwed up with the mouth opening and used some more of the colored adhesive. But I would say that with more practice, this method of modification is easier to do than melting vinyl scraps. The only disadvantage to this method is that colored adhesive is not flexible, and can eventually crack if you accidentally drop or apply a lot of pressure. The rightful owner of this cutie will be @battrastard ! He voluntarily accepted to adopt my mod experiment to salvage this head.

I finally created an account ^^

Hi everyone, I'm so happy to finally have my account on here, I've always been reading your posts and thought why not share my dolls as well. I'm from Europe and currently own 2 Dollfies, one is a DDH-06 and the other one a saber that I OOAKed lol. Also one floating head without faceup DDH-10 I also have One Azone Iris Collect Petit Stellar Lights Twins Anna in Pink. One Imomodoll Miko and floating head Apsu without faceup. And some small other Azones...😊 I currently have an Iris Collect Noix on her way😍 so I will make an unboxing soon💞 I'm personally really into the sweet and pastel style, so I really like pinks and light colors. O really like maid outfits or lolita inspired fashion, also the current "jirai" style. I'll bee going to Japan soon so I thought it would be nice to post about all of the great dolly shops and dolls that I go to. That will be in the end of March. I don't know how to post pictures yet, but as soon as I find out, I'll share my current doll family with you. Wishing you all the best🌸
  5. I grabbed this gorgeous head from Mandarake! I’ve been looking at her in store for months before finally going for it. She’s a DD and I was pleasantly surprised to find a signature and date inside from the artist! I can’t make out what it says but if anyone knows who the artist is I would love to show them once I finish her(someday lol). so immediately I’m trying to pick which body I should be on the look out for and my knowledge of vinyl dolls is so small. The problem is I want her to have thinner legs and a pretty large bust!! I see her as this sexy pretty vampire girl who won’t wear many clothes at all. tinyfox bodies look too young, I don’t like the boobies on dollfiedreams, she deserves better than imomo(ily imomo but yno), smart dolls are MASSIVE. Other than those I only know of angelphillia and I’m kind of liking the idea of that. The heads a little big but I don’t think it looks that bad. it really bothers me how APs butt is SO SMALL 😭compared to those thighs I would totally want some nice curvy hips and butt! But for her Maybe I could just put a AP bust on an Obitsu body? other than got any suggestions?!!!

Sending faceups in Winter - MSC

Hello everyone, I would like to address a topic, and I hope not to repeat it in the forum. I woke up this morning with a very stressful idea in my head. I sent my doll head to the buyer, but it's extremely cold outside in this period of the year, and I'm worried that the MSC sealant could be damaged. Even though I've protected the head well, the cold would maybe still reach it. How do you usually handle this? I’m curious about your experiences and any advise to handle this situation. Auctions and make-up comissions don’t stop in the winter and artists still send their heads to people … I'm really concerned about this issue! I appreciate any insights or suggestions you may have in this matter. Thank you all

    DDH-27 Painting Test

OH DEAR GOODNESS I FOUND OUT HOW TO POST IMAGES HERE YAYY!! I tested myself by using my digital artist program (IbisPaintX) to give myself my first attempt at making a face up. I did this by taking two image (One being from the official volks site and the other being from @F-15alice ) and then painted on a couple of layers I did give myself a couple rules to get it as close to painting an actual head as possible, No Liquify tool (Mostly), No symmetry tool, little to no opacity changes, and no transform tool to alter things. I also tried to separate the eyes a lil bit from the holes for added realism of the thickness of the head. Some things i'd change tho is trying not to use the ADD blending mode to the highlights, and doing better with the mouth cause i feel its too low on both.. but especially on the left. Similar to my last topic. Any tips to doing face ups in general or getting good yet cheap supplies, or just supplies in general is greatly appreciated.. PS. The face was directly referenced from Haku1923's Xera doll, not only cause i love the doll, but Link to the doll. Twitter: Haku1923's Xera Doll
  8. Holy heck I'm on this site again, anyways, I am a teenage artist on social media who became very much in love with Mini Dollfie Dream Dolls, and want to join in on having my own Mini Dollfie Dream, however i am kind of just trying to figure out a good way to save money on said doll (For my parents wallet and sanity lol) (I need to start my commissions but I'm a coward) So, theres one thing thats prob not gonna end up changing, the price for the head and body.. The head varies with the price cause of detail, materials used ect.. so im planning to just get a base head and paint my own head (Plus to be a lil more like the Dollfie photographer i admire greatly) and body.. well.. is straight up the most expensive piece lol However.. what are some ways i could save money on say.. materials for painting the face and head, outfits, wigs, ect. ect. Again, im mainly asking not just for me, but for my parents too since at this time.. I don't make money (Again should start commissions to hecking help) Any extra tips on Mini Dollfie dreams in general is very much appreciated cause although i know a little on MDD, I don't really know much at all on care and such.. (Closest thing i got is a flipping Monster High Draculaura doll lol) But yeah, ANYTHING to help with saving money on this soon to be new hobby would be great, yes, you can also link people or sellers that are good for a budget as well.. This is not just for the wallet.. but also for my parents sanity too lol. Please don't say anything on needing to have good money to have such hobby.. I just really like the dolls, they are precious and gorgeous, and want to have my own lil one too. ^w^'

    EpicDollFair 2023

Today I have visited EpicDollFair 2023. It was also the first time that I went somewhere with a doll with me. At the beginning I kept her in her back until I came by a booth were custom Blythe dolls were sold. These Blythe dolls contain a very interesting mechanism with small ropes on the back to change the eyes (four different pairs of eyes were attached in the head). With one of the ropes eyes could be closed. Never seen an eye device like this one before. In the photo you see Pip looking to the right side. That is because she is impressed by the face up and body blushing of this girl: She is a gorgeous girl. Both Blythes were for sale. It is unknown if the booth owner successfully sold her. During my talk with the shop owner, she noticed the doll in the bag that I was carrying. Feeling a bit insecure I took out Shisha Sosei from the bag and from that moment I kept her out of the bag during this fair. In the beginning it felt weird, feeling a bit ashamed but that improved really quickly and in the end the thought of walking with a doll in public faded away. Please note that most photo’s have been made with Shisha in one hand and my phone in the other hand. This has some influence on the quality. Apologies for the inconvenience. I visited a lot of booths and by some booths I also made photo’s. By this booth in the bag there were very nice Resin girls on display. The owner really love to create tattoos for her girls and I can tell you, she is very good at that. The details for example in only the hands is amazing. Also the nails have been painted too. I really love the old Chitose and I had to make a photo of her. She is wearing a dress made by her owner. This booth also sold buttons that you can place with magnets on your dolls outfit. I have bought 10 of them in the Star Wars theme and think these are very cool. 3D printing is a technique that was highly present. One of the items coming forth from 3D printing is the wheelchair below: Shisha doesn’t need one (yet) but who knows. Maybe at some point one of the girls needs some support. The wheelchair is an incredible detailed piece of art and I love all details about it. The chair is adjustable to fit multiple sizes. A few booth’s further there was this girl sitting on a well made 3D printed chair. There is a lot of details in it and it looks very sturdy. The only thing I personally dislike is the color of the chair. But that would be an easy fix with a brush and paint. At the same booth there was also this girl doing some quality napping. I think K2’s Chitose would really love this bed that is made of a wooden tray. This girl took it easy during today’s fair. Sometimes you see outfits that are impressive. The one below had so many details, the longer you look the more you see. I love the head and the small gears. I met a guy that walks around with two impressive girls. One of these two is easily recognisable as a Navy from the Avatar movies. Everything is handmade and both are 3D printed with resin (if I understand the owner correctly). This Navy doesn’t have her dark blue stripes yet, on the photo’s of his earlier projects I could see how the result looks with them and it looks amazing. Outfits for them are a bit of a struggle. Mainly because of the uncommon size. Yes, she is tall. Despite that she doesn’t weight more than Shisha. Also I came across this lovely girl: She started as a blanc girl and I think the wig, face up and eyes looks gorgeous. Her dress (which she received today because of the difficult doll size) compliments with the hair accessories and with the doll in general. Her eyelashes are also a nice detail. I really love the girl below. She has a gorgeous sculpt and intense gaze. Her owner plans to repaint the horns. In my opinion I do like the current horns. But who knows, maybe a repaint makes them nicer. Last but not least: The loot I took back with me. I know that some of my girls want to play the guitar. So I bought a few. Shisha demanded cigarettes because every succesful celebrity and artist has her unhealthy addictions after succes. So in other words: She was trying to came up with an excuse for starting smoking. Also there was a Photo Booth that resulted in some souvenir photo’s. They even had a Polaroid. Last there was an interesting Smartdoll girl up for adopting. I adopted The Mandalorian and Blurrg yesterday so she has to wait. This is the way…………… ….. to end this blogpost. Seeya next time. Rajke
  11. Hi! I've seen this head that looks similar to ddh-01 but has no eye holes and a slightly different mouth. Does anyone know what the official name of it is?
  12. This is The ABJD Slumber Party! This is one of the biggest photostories I've ever done. This story has all of my mature ABJD ladies enjoying a slumber party in their lingerie. It's a bunch of cheesecake, but it's a fun slumber party. I hope you enjoy watching my ladies bond over slumber party activities. Here's the full list of dolls: Volks Dollfie Dream 2 Yukino Volks Dollfie Dream Dynamite Alna Dollmore Model Doll Leah Cox Iplehouse nYID Olivia Iplehouse SID Eva Iplehouse EID Jessica While not every photo involves a vinyl doll, my Dollfie Dreams are prominently featured in this photostory, so I hope it's okay to share these photos in this subforum. My own half-real head

I was tired of hunting for nom-anime head. So I put worbla on one old head I sculpted few years ago. The clay sculpt was done as study of Rapunzel head which didnt end up as exact copy. Her life was short. She was dust and to dust returned. I should do this long time ago but maybe I was not personally evolved enough or I just had prejudices towards technology. I need to paint head and then do face Up.

  17. Hello! I'm still quite new to the hobby so the September new outfit collection on VolksJP will be the first time I'm planning on buying newly released (limited?) items that aren't a doll preorder so I have a few questions relating to it. Mainly I'm wondering if they sell out fast and is it likely to be a click war type of situation? I am familiar with the website now and can confidently checkout on it so I'm only worried that I might miss the time they release and they end up sold out due to time zone differences, 10:00 being 02:00 in my time zone. Sorry if this has an obvious answer, I tried googling myself but many of the answers are almost a decade old and I'm unsure if things have changed much since then or are different for different types of releases 😓

    Nova's Photo Thread

I started a thread for my Miku a while back and intended to post all of my photos of her there, but then I got Kaito shortly after and figured instead now I'd make a thread to post my future photos. I took the two of them out for a photoshoot a while back, and had a bit of a disaster happen on the way. Miku's nose came in contact with the black carrying bag I had them in and was stained solid black. I had to travel a bit for the photos, so I took some anyway, hoping I could edit some to look decent after, especially since it was Kaito's first shoot. It took me weeks to get the stain out and I didn't even want to look at the photos. Almost none of them were salvageable both because of Miku's nose and because my camera apparently wanted to be temperamental that day. Moral of the story: Even 16 years of doll photography will never get me used to manual focus, and do not try to fit two dolls into a black leather carrying bag. I figured I'd post thew few photos I didn't hate here anyway and then continue to post photos of these two here in the future. I hope to go back to this location on a better day! There were some really beautiful 'props' that the photos I took of didn't turn out or I couldn't get Miku to look acceptable in them. Bonus, bad snapchat photo of Miku trying Miku ramen with me!: Thanks for looking!

    MDD Marisa Repaint

Trying to remember to post faceups! Today I bring you my recent repaint of MDD Marisa 🩵 I have included a comparison shot with her stock faceup. I understand she’s grown in popularity as a sculpt- which is very understandable. She has a very diverse customization ability. You can create a pouty smile, a neutral look and even a sad pout (like I have done) I highly recommend her. She’s an adorable addition to any MDD family!
  20. I finished my Mini Dollfie Dream's faceup today! I think she turned out really well. ☺️ Can't post photos yet, unfortunately, but I still wanted to share haha. 🤳

Obitsu & DD Tan Skin Options?

Heya! So, I'm making this thread with a few specific questions about A. Obitsu because I'm very unfamiliar with the brand, and B. Color matching DD's Tan I wanna make multiple dark skinned characters and one of them being a boy, and 2 girls. When it comes to DD the proxy + DDC system its legit the only way to GET a boy. But.. I honestly have no clue what sizing they come in. I haven't looked too far into DDC, and what sizes do have boy anatomy. (Like DD/DDS/etc). It seems it would be easier, and cheaper in the long run if I tried doing the scary hybrid creations with an Obitsu boy torso/abdomen on a DD frame. (I really dislike Obitsu's joint look, so I wanna mix it with DD.) If anyone has played with the boy type and mix and matched brands, I'd love anyones input! And any details about tan skin! I know it's seasonal, but I honestly haven't seen it anywhere, even during summer so I'm kinda lost on where to go and search. I want bigger DD's, otherwise I'd just use the Kakuso MDD body, but, thats MDD :,) Again, any guidance or help with this would be so very appreciated!
